Heroes of Ethics History

The inaugural Heroes of Professional Ethics Series event occurred at the Xavier University Cintas Center on November 12th and featured Sherron Watkins - the Enron whistleblower and one of Time Magazine's 2002 "Persons of the Year."

How did the program come about?
After winning the Better Business Bureau's International Torch Award for Ethics in 2002, CMC Properties' President, Jim Cohen, called a meeting with Paul Fiorelli from Xavier and a Cintas Representative to discuss the idea. Xavier, one of the country's elite universities, has always appealed to students and faculty because of its Jesuit mission built on moral and ethical responsibility. The Cintas culture is built around the principles of moral and ethical responsibility, which has enabled them to become successful in the Cincinnati community and around the country. Together, all three believed they could build a program that would benefit the community and celebrate professional ethics in the workplace. The result was the Heroes of Professional Ethics Series.
